Marcos Marin, né au Brésil le 12 septembre 1967, est le fils d’un producteur de cinéma et d’une chanteuse lyrique. 

Dès l’âge de cinq ans Marcos suit les cours de piano classique au conservatoire de musique de Sao Paulo.  Très jeune, il démarre une carrière de pianiste virtuose et vient étudier la musique en France à Angers.

En même temps, il se passionne pour la peinture. A la Cité des Arts à Paris en 1990, Marcos rencontre Vasarely et se lance dans l’aventure de l’art optique. Plusieurs prix viennent couronner ses œuvres : le prix Fiat pour son œuvre sur Christophe Colomb fêtant les 500 ans de la découverte de l’Amérique (Musée Fiat de Turin) et le prix Collection Philips pour celle sur Mona Lisa. Durant cette décade, Marcos Marin joue un rôle important dans le développement culturel entre le Brésil et la France pour l’AIAP UNESCO. 

En 2000, il emménage aux USA, à Miami Beach, où il installe son atelier. 2003 est l’année de sa première sculpture monumentale. Elle sera exposée à Coconut Grove Convention Center à l’occasion de l’inauguration de la grande foire d’art Arteamericas. Il gagnera le concours "Best of Florida". En 2004 il expose pour la première fois à Monaco.

En 2006, Marcos Marin rencontre le styliste Pierre Cardin, qui devient son mécéne et  lui offre la possibilité de réaliser des œuvres de grand format dans l’atelier de Lacoste. Entretemps, Marcos Marin travaille au Portugal avec Stanley Ho dans le cadre du cinquantenaire du Casino d’Estoril. Le mécène offrira à l’artiste deux médailles d’honneur : l’une remerciant l’artiste pour l’exposition consacrée à la galerie du Casino et l’autre pour le portrait Stanley Ho réalisé à Macao. En 2009, invité au Japon dans le cadre de l’amitié Brésil-Japon, l’artiste obtient la reconnaissance pour l’ensemble de son œuvre.

Marcos Marin, born in Brazil on September 12, 1967, is the son of a film producer and a lyrical singer.

From the age of five, Marcos attended classical piano lessons at the Sao Paulo Conservatory of Music. Very young, he started a virtuoso pianist career and came to study music in France in Angers.

At the same time, he is passionate about painting. At the Cité des Arts in Paris in 1990, Marcos met Vasarely and embarked on the adventure of optical art. Several awards come to crown his works: the Fiat prize for his work on Christopher Columbus celebrating 500 years of the discovery of America (Fiat Museum of Turin) and the Philips Collection Award for the one on Mona Lisa. During this decade, Marcos Marin plays an important role in the cultural development between Brazil and France for UNESCO AIAP.

In 2000, he moved to the US, to Miami Beach, where he set up his studio. 2003 is the year of his first monumental sculpture. It will be exhibited at the Coconut Grove Convention Center on the occasion of the inauguration of the Arteamericas Art Fair. He will win the "Best of Florida" contest. In 2004 he exhibited for the first time in Monaco.

In 2006, Marcos Marin met the stylist Pierre Cardin, who became his sponsor and offered him the opportunity to make large-scale works in the Lacoste workshop. Meanwhile, Marcos Marin works in Portugal with Stanley Ho in the fiftieth anniversary of Casino Estoril. The patron will offer the artist two medals of honor: one thanking the artist for the exhibition dedicated to the Casino Gallery and the other for the portrait Stanley Ho made in Macau. In 2009, invited to Japan as part of the Brazil-Japan friendship, the artist gets recognition for all of his work.
